Falcons
Created by the South African Artist, Marco Cianfanelli. The sculpture is an iconic celebration of the symbolic value of falconry to the region and Bedouin culture. It is an arrangement of 132 columns placed in a dune landscape that has been covered with grass and which elevates the sculpture above the surrounding landscape. 18 meters high, and required 120 tons of steel to build. As you move around the site, six images of falcons taking flight come into focus at various points and then fragment again.
Ghaf tree
Inside the mall, there are two more sculptures to discover from the same artist representing a local tree found in the United Arab Emirates called ‘’. If you pay attention to the details of the 12 meter high steel indoor trees, you will discover that the leaves have been modelled as calligraphy with Arabic letters.
